Preview of Round III of the Women’s National League

On October 31 and November 1, the next matches of the Women’s National League regular season will take place in three cities across Kazakhstan.

Zhetysu and Quanysh have already played their Round III matches, which means we can look forward to fixtures involving the remaining six clubs.

Ertis – Burevestnik

Pavlodar, Bayantau Sports Complex

October 31 – 17:00; November 1 – 17:00

Pavlodar will host Women’s National League matches for the first time this season. Ertis played away against the championship’s main favourites in the first two rounds. First, Yevgeny Nikolayev’s team was unable to offer meaningful resistance to the reigning champions, Zhetysu, in Taldykorgan. Then, in Petropavl, the Pavlodar players managed to win one set against the formidable VC Quanysh.

Now, the Almaty team will travel to face them. After suffering two defeats away to Berel at the start of the season, Burevestnik left Aktobe with no chance in their subsequent encounter.

Aktobe – Berel

Aktobe, Alikhan Sports Complex

October 31 – 18:00; November 1 – 18:00

The hosts of the upcoming matches have yet to win a single set following their trips to Turkistan and Almaty. Meanwhile, the team from East Kazakhstan secured four convincing victories in the first two rounds, defeating Burevestnik and Karaganda.

With the support of their home fans, Aktobe will surely look to improve their record against Haluk Korkmaz’s team.

Karaganda – Turan

Temirtau, Zhauyrtau Sports Complex

October 31 – 16:00; November 1 – 16:00

Karaganda will play its home matches in Temirtau, a city located 35 kilometres from the regional centre and the hometown of many volleyball players, not only from the Karaganda team but from across Kazakhstan.

For many years, under the leadership of Valery Sergeyevich Yeliseyev, an Honoured Coach of the USSR and Kazakhstan, the Temirtau volleyball school served as a major talent centre for Kazakhstani volleyball.

Now, top-level volleyball has returned to Temirtau.

Karaganda failed to earn any points in the first two rounds in Petropavl and Ust-Kamenogorsk. The team will now face the reigning Kazakhstan Cup holders, who collected six points in their home matches against Aktobe before suffering two defeats in Taldykorgan.

Live broadcasts of all matches on October 31 and November 1 will be available on volley.kz and the YouTube channel of the Kazakhstan National Volleyball Federation.
