Preview: Round IV of the Men’s National League

Preview: Round IV of the Men’s National League

Eight matches in four cities across Kazakhstan on November 8 and 9 will continue the National League regular season. This time, Taraz will be the only one of the nine clubs sitting out.

Atyrau – Quanysh

Atyrau, IDA Arena Sports Complex

November 8, 17:00 | November 9, 17:00

Atyrau earned just one point in its two-match series against Okzhetpes in the previous round, and its current sixth place in the league is hardly encouraging for the home fans. This means Igor Nikolchenko’s team will be highly motivated and eager to get revenge. The upcoming away matches in Atyrau will also be challenging for Quanysh, which has managed only one win in four games this season.

Burevestnik – Zhetysu

Almaty, Champions Sports Complex (Dostyk)

November 8, 18:00 | November 9, 19:00

A clash between the league leaders and the reigning champions is always an exciting matchup. For the Almaty club, the upcoming games against Zhetysu are an excellent opportunity to extend their lead over their nearest rivals. Okzhetpes sit second, three points behind Burevestnik, while the Taldykorgan team are third. The six-point gap between Burevestnik and Zhetysu should provide sufficient motivation for Marat Adryshev’s players.

Aktobe – Okzhetpes

Aktobe, Alikhan Sports Complex

November 8, 19:00 | November 9, 19:00

Sergey Trikoz’s team sat out the previous round, and now the in-form Kokshetau side are coming to visit. Aktobe currently have an even win-loss record of 2–2, while Okzhetpes have suffered only one defeat in six matches this season. Aktobe will surely be keen to spoil the “blue hills’” record and improve their position in the regular-season standings.

Zhaiyq – Berel

Uralsk, Zhaiyq Arena

November 8, 19:00 | November 9, 19:00

Having started the season with two defeats in Almaty, the Uralsk team could theoretically climb to third place in the standings after the fourth round. Of course, not everything is in their hands, but they do have a chance. Rafael Gilyazutdinov’s young team, which caused a surprise last round by taking a point away from Burevestnik, will certainly have its own say in these theoretical calculations.
