ZHETYSU Defeats QUANYSH in the First Match of the Women’s National League Third Round

Zhetysu – Quanysh 3–0 (25–23, 25–18, 25–19)

The first match of the rescheduled third-round fixture in the Women’s National League between the teams from Taldykorgan and Petropavl ended with a straight-sets victory for the reigning champions.

However, midway through the first set, few would have expected the North Kazakhstan Region side to finish the match without winning a single set. At one point, Quanysh had a five-point lead.

Nevertheless, Marko Gršić’s team managed to overcome the difficult spell, edging out their opponents in the opening set before comfortably taking the remaining two sets.

Tomorrow, the teams will meet again for their second match. Saim Pakkan’s coaching staff will need to carefully analyse today’s defeat and work out how to respond in the rematch.
