Kazakhstan Stages Comeback Victory Over Australia
The AVC Cup 2026 continues in Ahmedabad, India.
In their second group-stage match, Kazakhstan's men's national team, coached by Sergey Trikoz, faced Australia. After losing the opening two sets, the Kazakh side fought back to claim the third set and then saved two match points in a dramatic fourth set to force a tie-break. Kazakhstan completed the comeback by winning the decisive fifth set and secured a 3–2 victory (15:25, 21:25, 25:23, 26:24, 16:14).
Earlier in the tournament, Kazakhstan lost its opening match to host nation India in straight sets, 0–3 (16:25, 21:25, 15:25).
Kazakhstan will next face Chinese Taipei on June 23, followed by matches against Bahrain on June 25 and New Zealand on June 26.
In Group B, Qatar, South Korea, Indonesia, Thailand, and Oman are competing for places in the semifinals.
