Kazakhstan Women’s Team Defeats Iran to Move Top of Pool B at AVC Women’s Nations Cup
The AVC Women’s Nations Cup continues in the Philippines, with Kazakhstan’s women’s national team claiming its third consecutive victory in the group stage.
After dropping the opening set, Askar Shalkibekov’s squad rallied to defeat Iran 3–1 (13:25, 25:20, 25:14, 25:18).
Earlier in the tournament, Kazakhstan also recorded wins over Hong Kong China (3–1) and Indonesia (3–0).
With three victories from three matches, Kazakhstan has collected 9 points and currently sits at the top of Pool B.
Kazakhstan’s remaining group-stage matches:
• June 11 – Lebanon
• June 12 – Vietnam
Pool A features the Philippines, Chinese Taipei, South Korea, Kyrgyzstan, Uzbekistan and Australia.
The top two teams from each pool will advance to the semifinals and continue their quest for the tournament medals.
