Taldykorgan to Host Key Women’s National League Matches
On October 27–28, Zhetysu will host VC Quanysh in rescheduled matches of the third round.
The two-match showdown between Kazakhstan’s reigning champions and the silver medallists has been scheduled separately from the other third-round fixtures. This is because the two best teams from last season were due to compete in the CAVA Women’s Volleyball League, the Central Asian club championship, from November 1 to 7. However, the Central Asian Volleyball Association postponed the tournament indefinitely.
Nevertheless, fans in Taldykorgan will have the opportunity to enjoy this highly anticipated clash between Zhetysu and VC Quanysh tomorrow and the following day.
One notable feature of the upcoming matches is that both clubs are led by foreign coaches. Zhetysu head coach Marko Gršić has been working in Kazakhstan for several years, while Saim Pakkan, who coaches the team from North Kazakhstan Region, is in his first season in the country.
In the opening two rounds of the current season, both Zhetysu and Quanysh recorded four victories. However, the Taldykorgan team lost just one set, while the Petropavl side conceded two sets to their opponents.
